Are We Really Believers???

Our beliefs about certain things shape our decisions. Duh.

For example...

I believe getting an education is important so naturally...I'm going to college.
I believe smoking is unhealthy so...I don't do it.
I believe family is important so...I spend time with them.

...and so on.

People tell what we believe based on what we do.

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. God sent Him to die for us. He lived as fully man and put away His holiness so that He was able to face temptation with the same flesh that we would later face our every day challenges with. Then, He obediently went to the cross to pay for my sin along with the sin of every person who has lived and who will live. He rose from the dead, and offers us the gift of eternal life. If we accept that gift then He lives in us through the Holy Spirit and we will spend eternity with Him. If we reject that gift and deny who He is, then Hell is our reward, and we are eternally separated from God.

Do our lives, as Christians, reflect that???

If not, then do we really believe it???

This is an idea that boggles my mind!

I know my salvation is secure! That's not my issue! I don't doubt that at all. No one can pluck me from His Hand!

However, if we truly believe that Hell is what awaits those who don't accept Him then why in the world are we not telling every single soul about Him?! If we truly believe life is not even worth living without Him and know the joy and peace that He brings then why are we not doing that?!

There are countless reasons we don't.

All of which I'm sure are dumb.

I fear most the awkwardness of the conversation I guess...the initial idea of bringing it up...but isn't someone's eternity worth a little awkwardness?? Definitely!

So I challenge you to forget your feelings and live out what you believe!

(I'm challenging myself mostly btdubbs!!!)

It's not about us!

It's an eternity we're talking about.
